Beginning in the late 1970's, Republicans seized control of every branch of the U.S. government in part through vicious gay-baiting.

After Bill Clinton won his first victory in 1992, Republicans immediately and relentlessly attacked him for tolerating gays in the military.

In 2004, Bush and the Republican Party made their opposition to gay marriage the centerpiece of their campaign. They put anti-gay marriage amendments on state ballots to turn out homophobic voters. They furiously attacked John Kerry for pointing out (in a supportive way) that Dick Cheney's own daughter is openly gay.

Now we know Bush's White House waved a gay male prostitute - Jim Guckert - into White House press conferences nearly every day for two years. Guckert, like many closeted gay Republicans, engaged in vicious gay-bashing himself: during the 2004 campaign, he wrote articles accusing John Kerry of running to be the "first gay president."

Jesus said, "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone."

It's time to expose every Republican gay-basher who is gay.

To be included, the individual must be:

  • A Republican or conservative political activist
  • Engaged in anti-gay advocacy or activism
  • Gay or bi-sexual
  • In the closet

Obviously the non-closeted members of the Log Cabin Republicans would not be included.

The list below includes individuals who have been identified as gay by sources we consider reliable. If you find an error, please let us know and we will post a correction.

I'm wondering how far this will go. I knwo during the clinton-gate thing, the FBI tracked down one of his accusers blowing boys on a park trail in Georgia. I also now that John Lowndes was outed and divorced fro mthe Christian Coalition.

How many other Xian leaders, who supported this president, are covering their own homosexuality? Illegitimate kids, like Bernard Kerik?

Rove is known to frequent gay bars alone, both in DC and in Austin!

A gay friend of mine tells me that his "gaydar" has picked up signals from Scott McClellan that suggest that he is one of Dorothy's friends too. I can't say for sure about either of them, but it is worth looking into, for anyone who is inclined.

Being married is no measure of sexual preference.

I feel slimy even going to this website, but these are political appointees by Bush that they list as openly gay.

  1. Tod Burnett - Environmental Protection Agency. ( Burnett is a former advisor to liberal Republican and former Los Angeles mayor Richard Riordan).
  2. Donald Capoccia - Serves on a national arts commission.
  3. Scott Evertz - White House Office of National AIDS. (Active member of the Log Cabin Republicans).
  4. Stephen Fong - Federal Transit Administration. ( former president of Log Cabin Republicans of San Francisco).
  5. Michael E. Guest - U.S. ambassador to Romania. (Only second open homosexual ever to represent America as a national ambassador).
  6. Stephen Herbits - Special consultant to the Secretary (screens job applicants at the Pentagon.) Herbits an original member of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (see above) and raised funds for numerous gay and lesbian community organizations.
  7. Mark Groombridge - State Department special assistant to John Bolton, Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security. Groombridge is a member of Log Cabin Republicans of D.C., and the homosexual libertarian group Gays & Lesbians for Individual Liberties.
  8. Jim Wiggins - Environmental Protection Agency.
  9. Jim Kolbe (R) Ariz. U.S. House

That information was found in five minutes with a Google search. Imagine what else one might find with a little more motivation!

I thought the following links might be interesting, though no repubs are named. In the first one, a Christian Wrong leader says that Republicans should begin purging their staffs of gays immediately.
In the second article, Jerry Falwell says that gays should leave the republican party immediately and join the Democrats.

More interesting is that he and Karl Rove seem to share a mentor -- a largely under-the-radar wingnut named Morton Blackwell. It seems that "Jeff" also is a graduate of the the Leadership Institute Broadcast School of Journalism -- a conservative propagandist training school that was founded and is run by Blackwell and that operates on an $8 million annual budget which comes from God knows where.

Remember the lame stunt during the Republican National Convention in NYC where many delegates taunted war hero Kerry by wearing purple band-aids that said: “It was just a self-inflicted scratch, but you see I got a Purple Heart for it”? It was Blackwell, a GOP delegate from Virginia, who handed the band-aids out to the conventioneers.

Less well known is that Blackwell -- who was the youngest Barry Goldwater delegate in 1964 -- is also a former national executive director of the College Republicans, who had trained the teen-age Karl Rove to be a “field organizer.” According to a May 2003 New Yorker article, it was Blackwell who urged Rove to shun the growing reliance on pollsters and media consultants and go back to the grassroots. We all know how that turned out.

We'd never heard until tonight of the Leadership Institute Broadcast School of Journalism, which apparently trains hundreds of "Jeff Gannons" every year. They were hiding in plain sight.

There's one other thing that raises our curiosity about who or what is behind "Gannon." It seems that when he wasn't bashing Kerry, he paid a ton of attention to the Thune vs. Daschle Senate race in South Dakota. One blog that seemed to think "Gannon" was an authoritative journalist and linked to at least one of his reports was called "Daschle v. Thune."

If that name sounds familiar, it should. It later was reported that the author of the blog, Jon Lauck, was a former Thune campaign staffer and was paid $27,000 by Thune's 2004 campaign while he was producing the Web site.

So let us get this straight: The top Democrat in the Senate loses a race where the GOP sets up a phony blog that passes along news reports from a pseudo media organization, written by a reporter given White House credentials under a fake name.

How often does an enterprising young man, heralded in press reports as both a reporter and a contributor to such sites as Hotmilitarystud.com, Workingboys.net, Militaryescorts.com, MilitaryescortsM4M.com and Meetlocalmen.com, get to question the president of the United States?

Who knew that a hotmilitarystud wanting to meetlocalmen could so easily get to be face2face with the commander in chief?

It's hard to believe the White House could hit rock bottom on credibility again, but it has, in a bizarre maelstrom that plays like a dark comedy. How does it credential a man with a double life and a secret past?

And The Wilmington News-Journal in Delaware reported that Mr. Guckert was delinquent in $20,700 in personal income tax from 1991 to 1994.

I'm still mystified by this story. I was rejected for a White House press pass at the start of the Bush administration, but someone with an alias, a tax evasion problem and Internet pictures where he posed like the "Barberini Faun" is credentialed to cover a White House that won a second term by mining homophobia and preaching family values?

At first when I tried to complain about not getting my pass renewed, even though I'd been covering presidents and first ladies since 1986, no one called me back. Finally, when Mr. McClellan replaced Ari Fleischer, he said he'd renew the pass - after a new Secret Service background check that would last several months.

As part of my 12 step program, after-all everyone knows gay's are junkies right Rush? anyway, I digress.. I am a gay Republican man. All that you see going on around you is merely a part of our "homosexual agenda", and you thought the "homosexual agenda" was Democrat, fooled ya. We will rule the world and make you all submit to our "homosexual agenda" and by the way the fundies are ok with all this despite their vocal disent, they believe afterall, when the gay's rule the world, the rapture won't be far behind... You know, Soddom and Ghomorra and all that. Anyway I'm glad i came clean, pretending to be a straight Democrat made me feel so dirty. Word on the street is that Dana Rohrabacher (R), Congressional 46th, is a closeted bi-sexual, his wife only serving as a beard, and paid handsomely. She ( a convicted felon) produced artificially inseminated triplets during his 2004 race when Bob Dornan (HUGE homophobe!) contested his seat -- largely believed to be a move calculated to quell public suspicion. When asked if he was gay by a "John and Ken" radio host in the 2004 campaign, Rohrabacher only laughed and never answered the question yes or no. It doesn't help any that Rohrabacher's staff members talk too much, i.e. "Chatty Kathy", alleging his passion for surfing with and for young men. If true, Rohrabacher should be HONEST and come out. He has a large gay constituency in Long Beach and none of the O.C. Repubs really care anyway.
