Wow!!! The response to our Boycott FOX News Advertisers petition has been huge! We're over 42,000 and counting :)

And the advertisers are listening! When ColorOfChange.org started their campaign against Glenn Beck advertisers a week ago, they quickly persuaded Lawyers.com, Proctor & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, and S.C. Johnson. And in the past few days, these advertisers have also quit Beck: Geico, Mens Warehouse, Sargento Cheese, and State Farm.

Here's a great video from MediaMatters:

Here are the notes we got from advertisers who cancelled their Glenn Bleck ads:

Sargento Cheese

We deeply appreciate your reaching out to us and sharing your comments and concerns about Sargento ads appearing during "The Glenn Beck Show." We sat down with the marketing department to talk about it and I learned that we buy time periods not specific programs. But in any event, they've made the decision to exclude that program from our future ad rotation. Simply stated, Sargento ads won't be airing during that show. Again, thanks for contacting us.

State Farm:

Thank you for your recent e-mail concerning State Farm’s advertising on the Fox network.

Recently, there was a breakdown in the execution of State Farm’s advertising guidelines and a few commercials mistakenly appeared for a brief time on a couple political discussion programs.

Understanding our millions of customers and thousands of associates hold a full spectrum of views on political issues, State Farm has a long-standing practice of not advertising in political discussion programming.  This advertising applies regardless of a program’s political point of view.

State Farm continuously monitors programming to ensure quality control and that our political issues advertising guidelines are maintained.

Thank you for your e-mail and your continued support of State Farm Insurance, both are greatly appreciated.

We've also heard from these advertisers, but they have not stopped advertising yet.

Avaya.com

We don't advertise on FOX.

Clorox

This is in response to your recent communication regarding a Clorox Company advertisement. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We very much appreciate your feedback and vigilance of broadcast television as The Clorox Company remains committed to quality broadcasting. We pride ourselves in being a responsible advertiser and have established strict standards for the selection of television programming. Per our standards, we do not advertise in programs that display exploitive sex or violence; treat ethnic, religious or political groups in a disparaging manner; present facts inaccurately or distort them to blatantly partisan advantage; and treat individuals or groups in a demeaning manner.

We understand that while Glenn Beck was a guest on the program Fox & Friends on 7/28/09, he made the statements that you wrote to us about. After a thorough investigation by our agency partners, we have confirmed that no Clorox Company advertisement aired in the above program where Glenn Beck made the specific comments you referenced. While we've had limited advertisements on the Glenn Beck Program in the past, the programming content at issue would not adhere to our programming standards and furthermore we will continue to rigorously scrutinize these types of shows for participation.

Today's television programming environment is extremely challenging for responsible advertisers. However, The Clorox Company will continue to exercise special care in all program and station selection. We do not want to support programming that is in conflict with our programming standards.

United Health Care:

Can you please tell me what local affiliate you saw this on and at what time the ad ran. I will bring up with our ad folks tomorrow morning.  We do not have a national ad campaign with Fox.

Vehix.com

We do not pick the channels or times that our commercials air. This is left up to our parent company Comcast.

Hi, You have the wrong information for "MetaStock".

The one you list is just a reseller in Canada, not the manufacturer, who actually do the advertising. It's more effective, getting the message to the right place. The manufacturer is at:

http://www.MetaStock.com
http://www.Equis.com

Equis International
90 South 400 West
Suite 620
Salt Lake City, UT 84101

All Americans deserve true news reports. When a national television reporter consistently lies and fabricates untruths regarding the policy programs that are in process by the current administration. No television advertizer should support these discrepancies like Glenn Beck is reporting on by the lies the American people are hearing on his program.

Boycotts towards businesses have always occurred, it is not as though this was suddenly a brilliant new idea thought up to go against Glenn Beck & Fox News. Which part of the Constitution or Bill of Rights is it that you think says this sort of thing should not be allowed? If you think Glenn Beck is awesome and so very honest then good for you, I guess you agree with him that Osama needs to bomb our country again so that we can get the Republicans back in power. How that's "patriotic" I don't know, but I'm sure you could explain it to me.

What I find scary is the hatred and violence being advocated on tv. We spent 8 years with Bush in power and I never once heard anyone on NPR say anything even 5% as hateful as is displayed every day on FOX news just months into Obama's presidency. The Republican Jihad - is it really about politics or something more disgusting like racism?

I sent an email to Apple a couple of days ago when I first saw this article. I heard nothing as of this morning, so I called and spoke to their PR dept. I spent a long time on the phone with a gentleman who seemed genuinely concerned about his company's lack of responsiveness. I told him that I understand how media buys are made; especially for cable, when often times an entire package will be purchased without a company really knowing exactly which shows will be sponsored. However, Apple has apparently been fielding calls about this very issue from a number of other customers.

I am appalled that Apple is on the list, and further appalled that they have not cancelled their advertising as of yet.

I wonder how Al Gore, who is on Apple's Board of Directors, would feel if he knew he was working for a company that sponsors treason... and agreeing with a guest that Osama bin Laden attack us with nuclear weapons sure sounds like treason to me. As does suggesting that poisoning a member of The House of Representatives is a good idea.

I am a long time Apple user... bought my first SE-30 in 1987 and have trained many users on Apples. I also happen to be a stockholder. I cannot express how mortified I am at this point.

I will

Go look for yourself. There are clips on youtube from gb's show.

Shameful? what's shameful is your ridiculous and insulting inferences that I (among others) did not actually see for myself the treasonous remarks made by Glenn Beck. Go back to Faux. Where believing what your told is a way of life.

I haven't commented here before, or even gotten into looking at posted comments of others, although I have been registered for quite a while on democrats.com, greatly appreciate the initiative of Bob Fertik and David Swanson, and have been happy to sign on to most democrats.com petitions.

When the (prolific) poster at this site 'rsherryd' cites the Heritage Foundation as a source, and ardently defends Faux News, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, all the while claiming to be a "moderate Democrat" or "my Father's Democrat", the term troll immediately comes to mind. Perhaps his 'Father' is Joe Lieberman, or Zell Miller?

Fox hate and fear

When Obama was running for office my son was going house to house in support of his election. At one house lived an older black woman who claimed that Obama was the anti-christ. That is the level of fear and hate that the radical religious right has for the moderate center and moderate left, but they are so far right that they think they are merely conservative. This is where Fox News thrives but two can play that game, and I will. Below is a little bit of pay forward....
.
FOX NEWS HAS A SECRET SPONSOR
.
Sometimes somethings aren't what they seem, or what it wants you to believe to be true. Does "Fox News" have a secret sponsor? Lets look!
In the Bible it says that in the end times the Beast shall have the number 666, and that those wise to numerology shall be able to detect the beast.
So let us examine FOX news using numerology.
The "F" is the 6th letter of the alphabet; which is 6.
The "O" is the 15th letter ; when added together is 6.
The "X" is the 24th letter ; when added together is 6.
So "FOX" in numerology terms is represented by the number "666" , which is also the number of the BEAST.
ALL YE CHRISTIANS HAVE NOW BEEN WARNED !!!!!! As in the Bible it warns that even the chosen will be deceived.
Pray that the deceived shall return to God. Amen.

srs if you are going to quote the Bible please try to get it right, 666 is the number of the beast or Devil, Lucifer! Excepting the number of 666 is literal. It will be on the hand or forehead. It will very likely be in form of a microchip but also could be a tattoo. In the last seven years or "Tribulation" all will be required to have the"mark" to buy or sell or for any participation of commerce. The Antichrist is or will be in the form of a man, a very beautiful, genus, worker "of supernatural acts. He himself will be healed from a fatal wound to the head. And yes "many will come in my name", false prophets. But most assured numerology is NOT found anywhere in the Holy Bible. Obama certainly is Not the antichrist as he hasn't any of these masks that the Devil himself will have. (and his brief rock star blinded fan base was short and all but gone!! Could he be a forerunner for things to come? Perhaps. He could very well be setting the stage for his arrival. He will not rise from the United States but somewhere out of Europe or South Africa. Infact the USA is not found anywhere in the end times prophecy. So sadly that we are either wiped out (not likely) or we will be joined with another Country such as Great Britain in any case the face of our NATION will have drastically changed ie socialism!! But most of you FOX Paranoid blinded folks will remain tragically blinded. But when these things come to pass all the Christains will be gone yes thats right Raptured, but you will still have a chance at Salvation. But why wait I pray for you and all non believers to come to the Lord, John 3:16. Look for yourself ,the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel and supporting factual study guides such as Hal Lindsey, Tim Lahaye, are just a couple. But only Authors that are specific in scripture. For all who are so afraid of the truth and full of hate, and anger towards Fox or anyone read Matt 5:43-48 just one of many great places to start!! God Bless all.

howsad, you chastised srs for not getting it right. You said: "666 is the number of the beast"

The story srs told, that "in the end times the Beast shall have the number 666" sounds just like what you said, so there's no difference between your statements.

howsad, no one is deceived by how you contrived a disagreement so that you could publish and prosletyze your own personal religious beliefs.

As Americans, we are all free to choose our own beliefs, and to be free of others imposing their beliefs upon us. That part of our Democratic Party Platform is below.

Characterizing our Democrats.com members as "FOX Paranoid blinded folks" is an unwarranted attack upon them.
