Richmonders to rally outside Richmond Times-Dispatch and demand “Stop the warmongering! No War on Iran!”

Richmond, VA – On Saturday, July 26, at 1 p.m., Richmond-area residents will gather outside the offices of the Richmond Times-Dispatch at 300 E. Franklin St. to demonstrate their opposition to an attack on Iran and to voice their outrage at the Media General newspaper’s increasingly incendiary stories and headlines about what it is projecting as a near-certain war with Iran.

“We saw the same thing happen during the lead-up to the illegal attack on Iraq,” said Chris Dorsey of RVA4Peace, the group initiating the protest. “Media reports of Iran’s alleged nuclear threat are eerily reminiscent of Iraq’s so called ‘Weapons of Mass Destruction.’”

This is a bi-weekly peace stand that is sponsored by the Westminster Women in Black.

This stand has been going on for six (6) long years and the participants are against the war in Iraq and any future wars being started by the current adminostration.

During the protest, we must adhere to specific City of Westminster cods for demonstration.

• We must stand at least 10 feet apart
• We must stand as close to the curb as possible to avoid blocking pedestrian traffic.
• We may not block any crosswalks

However we are able to hand out materials to people that wish to receive such documentation, but we may not enter the roadway to give the material to motor vehicle operators.

the auditorium (Rm. B130) in Van Vleck Hall on Bascom Hill on the UW
Madison campus with coffee and treats at 6:15 PM.

Both town meetings, in Madison (on 7/28) and Milwaukee, are part of Dr. Bowman’s national speaking tour advocating impeachment and change. Bowman stated, “We must take back America from the corporate interests. Our immediate goals are to prevent a war on Iran, end the occupation of Iraq, and start impeachment proceedings against President Bush and Vice President Cheney.” In 2000 Bowman ran for president in the primary for the Reform Party nomination, which Pat Buchanan won. In 2006 in Florida Bowman ran unsuccessfully as a Democrat for the U.S. House against an incumbent Republican representative.

KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. ­ Kirtland Air Force Base will be holding public meeting on Thursday, July 31 to discuss the KAFB Bulk Fuels release and the discovery of fuel product on the water table. The meeting will be held at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial and will start start at 6 p.m. Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend.

It is with grave concern that we observe the growing threat of a new U.S. war--this time against the people of Iran.

The media is filled with reports of an alleged nuclear threat posed by Iran and the assumed need for the U.S. to take military action. These reports recall the "Weapons of Mass Destruction" stories issued in the months leading up to the war on Iraq.

Persepolis is a 2007 animated film based on Marjane Satrapi's autobiographical graphic novel of the same name . The film was written and directed by Satrapi with Vincent Paronnaud.

President Bush is coming to Kennebunkport on Friday and staying through the weekend at the Bush Family's Compound. The Kennebunk Peace Department, CODE PINK, Maine Veterans for Peace chapters 001 and 003, Veterans for Peace, Smedley Butler Chapter and other Peace and Justice organizations will be gathering in protest of this WAR CRIMINAL on SATURDAY, AUGUST 2nd.

The CODE PINK POLICE will be in attendance to arrest "W."

Some say, why bother with protesting Bush,as he is a lame duck. He is still the most dangerous person in the world and is still continuing to destabilize the Middle East!
