On Thursday, May 22, Roust Theatre Company hosts a special
performance of its 20th Anniversary production of Lee Blessing's TWO
ROOMS -- a penetrating political drama about hostage-taking, the
story-hungry press, and the staggering ineptitude of government which,
despite the twenty intervening years, remains frighteningly relevant
-- to benefit Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) at The
Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street) in Manhattan.

In addition to the performance of TWO ROOMS, the May 22nd benefit
includes a wine reception and post-show talkback with the cast and
creative team, director James Phillip Gates, and special guest IAVA
Executive Director and Founder Paul Rieckhoff, who is also the author

America from Baghdad to Washington."

"Roust strongly believes in the work the IAVA does on behalf of
veterans of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan," says Mr. Gates,

Whistleblower Week in Washington – W3
Convene by the No FEAR Institute
May 12-16

DISTRIBUTE WIDELY

We pay tribute and give honor to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on the 40th anniversary of his assassination, the world's most famous and revered whistleblower. He had the courage to stand tall and blow the whistle on the United States government -- corruption, lies, racism, and the Vietnam War.

So on this day, we request everyone to rise in support of whistleblowers and civil rights activists and to rededicate ourselves to fighting for justice and equal access to economic and political parity.

***SPECIAL DEAL FOR EDGE OF SPORTS NATION***

Edge of Sports Nation: I am proud to report that I will be speaking on Saturday June 21st in Chicago at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare on a panel called “1968: The Athletes Revolt.“

Speaking along side me will be Dr. John CARLOS from the 1968 Olympic Black Power Salute, and Dave MEGGYESY, former NFL Player who retired in 1969 in protest of the way the league was so intertwined with the Vietnam War and dehumanization of athletes. Meggyesy also wrote perhaps my all time favorite sports biography /Out of Their League. /

Give some time to end the occupation of Iraq

We must keep speaking out against the "Emergency Supplemental Bill" that will fund the Iraq occupation into 2009 ($172 billion more). Congress will be voting on the Bill this week.

We're keeping the pressure on. We sat in Sen. Susan Collins' office last Thursday in Portland from noon until 5:30 a.m. and we're going back this Wednesday, May 14th.

El Sereno, California screening of American Blackout

Many have heard of the alleged voting irregularities that occurred during the presidential elections of 2000 and 2004. Until now, these incidents have gone under-reported and are commonly written-off as insignificant rumors or unintentional mishaps resulting from an overburdened election system.

American Blackout chronicles the recurring patterns of voter disenfranchisement from Florida 2000 to Ohio 2004 while following the story of Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney. McKinney not only took an active role
investigating these election debacles, but has found herself in the middle of her own after publicly questioning the Bush Administration about the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
