Building to the Days of Decision: Between Now and September 14th:

- Lobby your members of Congress to end the U.S. occupation of Iraq. Ask them to pledge not to vote for more war funding and to support a real plan for peace: The Declaration of Peace campaign's nine point Comprehensive Peace Plan for Iraq.

1. Phone them during National Call-In Days.
2. Join or organize a delegation visit or town hall meeting with your Senators and Representative during the August recess.
3. Videotape your interaction with your Congressperson and their staff, and post it on the DoP website.

- Start organizing mid-September nonviolent action in your city.

Carl Rising-Moore has asked that we pass along this information.

GW Bush arrived at the Crawford "ranch" on Monday August 13. The duration of his stay is not known, but it is suspected that he is starting his annual summer vacation at that time.

A continued presence near the ranch at the checkpoints is vital.

We feel its our responsibility to continue to stand up with our peaceful protests. Being close to Crawford, we have a unique grassroots opportunity to directly speak truth to power.

If you can spend some time at Camp Casey III, the checkpoint, or in the ditch with Carl, please contact him directly at 317-777-4805.

Transportation will be available from CC III to the checkpoints.

More information may follow on specific actions.

We need help at this event Friday starting at about 6 PM. We need volunteers to wear Bush, Cheney, Rice and Rumsfeld puppet heads and walk in a Chain Gang, to wear orange detainee jump suits and hoods and carry mock caskets, to carry impeachment signs and impeachment petitions and walk back and forth in front of the theater for an hour or so. The event should have 400 plus people and as many names as possible added to our impeachment petition.

See this site for what the Chain Gang puppets look like: http://backbonecampaign.org/chaingang.cfm
