Republicans Talk Impeachment While Rahm Emanuel Says "Forget It"In Washington DC, spring is in the air - and so is impeachment! Rightwing Senator Chuck Hagel discussed his famous impeachment quote (in this month's Esquire) on ABC's "This Week"
And would Republicans defend Bush from impeachment? Judging by the Gonzales battle, probably not. Here's the evil Robert Novak:
So Republicans are fleeing Bush's lonely sinking ship. Will Democrats seize the day? No way in hell, according to the #4 Democratic leader Rahm Emanuel:
Forget it, Rahm? Not on our lives.

Whatever Rahm
Just the fact that Hagel is talking about it again means it's gathering some steam. Keep it up. It's endless pressure endlessly applied that gets you results. I've also seen it being talked about on a lot of blogs, Bill Maher's been upping the anti and with the latest on the Gonzalez 8 and the Bush admin saying no to subpeonas, expect Senator Pat Leahy to push the pedal to the metal and take this to the Supreme Court. After that we'll see what this Supreme Court is made off (or not). You feel like it's going somewhere. But we still have a long way to go.
Watch for Vermont to get things moving. The Vermont Democratic Committee voted 7 to 1 to ask the Democrats to pass a joint resolution calling for impeachment proceedings by the end of this session.
The Dems have a supermajority in the House and a large majority in the Senate. The main person who's holding it up is Gaye Symington, the House Speaker who is strongly opposed to it. Wait til she hears from Vermont and when she does so will the rest of you!
