Election Problems Galore!

Big news so far:

Republicans are complaining too:

  • Tom Kean Jr. has accused the Menendez campaign of jamming the campaign headquarters doors with locks, chains and broken keys. Of course, no evidence whatsoever - and Kean spent millions falsely portraying upright Menendez as a mafioso.
  • Former Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-FL) asks: "Why are Republicans against paper trails?" Excellent question!

ROBOCALLS TAPED??

Does anyone have one of the Republican Robocalls on tape? I sent info to the Chicago ABC station last night after they off-handedly mentioned they had heard something about it. The reporter emailed me to see if anyone had a recording. Any help would be appreciated. Email me personally at mlayfield@prodigy.net

Second issue: Cook County, Illinois suburbs -- They did redistricting and did not notify people of new districts. Interestingly, the Cook County Registrar of Voters -- David Orr, a Democrat -- is up for re-election. My district went from 80 to 2 in Elk Grove. The judges running the polling location were, however, dealing very well with it. However, I did see some people who were not happy about being redirected between the three district lines that were in the one polling location.

Colorado voting

I personally experienced no problems voting. I showed up at around 5 p.m., and waited maybe 5 minutes for a machine to open up, and then voted and left. However, I live in Glendale, which is a city entirely surrounded by Denver, which I hear from everyone had lines, machine problems, and everything else under the sun. A friend of mine told me he drove by a polling place just on the other side of the city line between here and Denver, and the line of people was out the door. It's very odd what a difference two blocks and a city/county line will do in terms of the voting experience.

Despite the voting problems in Denver...judges...

Not surprising

It's not surprising that they turned it down, even though I saw pictures of the mayor and the Democratic nominee for Governor standing in line for over an hour today waiting to vote.

Sarasota Fl

In the vote for Harris's old seat, Fl 13th, the race is so close that the lawyers are calling for a count of the machines! There are 10,000 votes missing! At the present there is a 368 difference between Buchanan and Jennings, the dem. That means that there will be an automatic recount, but no paper trail to follow, so no one knows how they will be able to recount.

The only problem that I had voting on the machine was that the congressional race didn't show up on my machine nor did it show on my daughter's machine. When we got to the review at the end it showed the congressional vote as being blank or no vote and let us go back and vote in that race.

Ah, but how many people missed that?

And ended up not voting in that race?

Florida.  Recount?  Nah.  Couldn't be.  They don't do that there.  ;-)

According to tonight's paper

According to tonight's paper that is exactly what happened. 13% of voters didn't vote in that race. Isn't that enough proof that the machines are too buggy and completely unreliable?

Buchanan has announced his win and Jennings is holding her ground and refusing to concede. They are both novice politicians, but he is a business owner with secret bank accounts in the Caribbean and tons of past litigation for shady business dealings. She is a bank president, who started out right out of high school as a teller and worked her way up.

Well done to you all!!!

Thank you, j-jour.

It's a great day for our country.

They Did Try to Steal the Election

No wonder Bush and Rove insisted up to the last minute that Republicans were going to win. According to data in the article below, the Democratic "Wave" probably would have been a lot larger, if the election hadn't been hacked.

Below is a link to what appears to be a very careful analysis of the 2006 elections, based on the raw exit poll data ("uncorrected" to reflect the final count). It concludes that Democrats received significantly more votes than the election machines recorded: over 55% instead of about 52+%, indicating that the machines were systematically hacked, to provide a sufficient margin for a Republican win if the electorate hadn't continued to move in favor of the Democrats beyond the margins picked up in polls around Oct 1.

We've had a reprieve in the 2006 election, but in order to be sure that 2000 and 2004 don't happen again, a requirement for paper receipts (verified by voters) and a legal imperative for at least random hand recounts (of the paper receipts), will be necessary if we are ever again going to have confidence in our voting system. A bill that would have accomplished the above was offered in this Congress, had over 220 sponsors, but was killed by the Repub leadership.

We need to write letters to Congressmen and Senators to demand paper receipts and random hand recounts as a legal requirement of all US elections.

Even so

They hacked the machines THIS time as well.

Major Miscount in 2006 Election: Were 4% of Votes "Misplaced"?

Study the Exit Poll Data

Election Defense Alliance, a national election integrity organization, issued an urgent call today for an investigation into the 2006 election results and a moratorium on deployment of all electronic voting equipment after analysis of national exit polling data indicated a major undercount of Democratic votes and an overcount of Republican votes in congressional races across the country. These findings are an alarming indictment of the American election system in which 80% of voters used electronic voting equipment.

As in 2004, the Exit Poll and the reported election results do not add up. But this time there is an objective yardstick in the methodology that establishes the validity of the Exit Poll and exposes the inaccuracy of the election returns. These findings are detailed in a paper published today on the EDA website.

The Edison-Mitofsky media Exit Poll, posted Election Night on CNN.com, had a sample base of more than 10,000 voters, and showed Democratic House candidates winning over Republicans by an 11.5 percent margin.

The reported vote count showed Democrats winning by a 7.6 margin, 3.9 percent less than the Exit Poll and far outside the poll’s +/-1-percent margin of error. This discrepancy entailed at least 3,000,000 votes.

What we did is that we overwhelmed them at the polls. WE have to get rid of those machines NOW.

oops sorry

That's the same story. :)
