eBayGate: Did Palin Sell the State Plane to a Crony in a Sweetheart Deal?

In her convention speech, Sarah Palin bragged about putting the state airplane up for sale on eBay. "It was over the top," she smirked.
Of course the plane didn't actually sell on eBay because she couldn't get a good enough price. So instead she hired a broker.
In fact, the jet did not sell on eBay. It was sold to a businessman from Valdez named Larry Reynolds, who paid $2.1 million for the plane -- shy of the $2.7 million purchase price -- according to news reports at the time. Reynolds contributed to Palin's campaign in 2006.
So Alaska lost $600,000 in the deal with Palin donor Larry Reynolds. Which raises the question: was it a sweetheart deal designed to enrich Reynolds?
Update 1: Of course John McCain lied about the whole deal:
"You know what I enjoyed the most? She took the luxury jet that was acquired by her predecessor, and sold it on eBay -- and made a profit!" McCain declared in Wisconsin at a campaign stop Friday.

McCain and Palin
Before too much more rethoric is splashed over the media outlets by both candidates, do yourself a favor first. Simply go get your dictionary and look up the word "lie". Webster's definition is simple and to the point: " anything that misleads or deceives". Does anyone immediately come to mind? You will notice that there is NO reference to who, what, or how something or someone is exempt of this definition. And McCain stood right there and said very excitingly, "she sold the plane on e-bay and made a profit".
I truely beleive that John McCain will say anything, if he can remember what to say, regardless, if he thinks it will get him a vote.
You see America, its not Sarah Palin's decision to go around the country, and refuse to answer questions that are concerns and issues of the people of the United States. If the Corporate America owned news outlets won't co-operate in the matter, they too need to be exposed.
Everyone has had the opportunity to see and hear what these two candidates are doing. { Refer back to the beginning paragraph }of this e-mail. One claims to be a hero, in his own mind maybe, there were many, many soldiers won fought in Viet Nam. Many soldiers that could be letigidmate heros for their bravery and duty for this country. Hell, we've had one President appointed to office, who was a desserter during the Viet Nam war. His running mate was a coward. How on earth can someone beleive that because he was a prisoner of war, he's now qualified to be commander in chief. Some of us veterans of Viet Nam, are not as impressed as McCain thinks he is.
Palin's outspoken speeches and her beleif that she is the complete answer to our country's needs, shows her level of maturity is far lacking for the American people, and our country's needsa. Sarah Palin appears to be looking out for Sarah Palin's political future first. Just don't ask her how she sees or stands on America's needs. It would take time away from her personal goals.
