Drag Queen Ken Wants War on Impeachment

Ken Mehlman, chairman of the massively homophobic Republican Party, has been invisible lately - no doubt too busy cruising gay bars in drag with other closeted Republican queens like Rep. David Dreier and Senator George Allen.

But now the Queen of the Queens wants to wage war on Democrats over impeachment, as Andy Ostroy reports:

"The word is out. Their position is clear. Last week, Sen. Russ Feingold floated a reckless plan to censure the President, and some Democrat leaders have ecstatically jumped on Feingold's bandwagon. And, if they gain even more power in November, they won't stop there."

There you have it. RNC head Ken Melhman's aggressive campaign to use censure and impeachment to drive voters to the polls is in full swing. Mehlman sent an email to constituents Thursday morning in an effort to scare the bajesus out of them and to solicit money to fight the big bad Democratic beast.

"The Democrats' plan for 2006? Take the House and Senate, and impeach the President. With our nation at war, is this the kind of Congress you want? If your answer is a resounding "NO", I need you to make an urgent contribution to help us win this fight," Mehlman wrote.

Make no mistake. The censure/impeachment issue is going to be this year's gay marriage hot-button, and Mehlman & Co. will use it as contentiously and divisively as possible. It's going to get ugly. For the GOP and for Bush, it's about survival. And the Repuglicans have shown us time and again that they will use whatever means necessary, no matter how dirty, to attain and retain power.

Our Democratic Party leaders - that means you, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Howard Dean - have a historic choice to make. You can pretend that censure and impeachment are not on the table - and get crushed once again by Drag Queen Ken and his goosestepping followers. Or you can unite behind Russ Feingold (who is getting rave reviews for his gig on The Daily Show) and rally the anti-Bush majority to demand and end to Bush's disastrous policies and personal accountability for his nation-shaming High Crimes.

Since Feingold announced his Censure Resolution, I have committed to the following:

1. Send DAILY e-mails to every Democratic Senator that has not publicly announced support for Feingold Resolution;

2. Send replies to EVERY Democratic Fundraising Request that state: NOT ONE DAMN DIME for Democrats until they support Feingold's Resolution.

I say vote Republican until everybody is dead, broke, gas is $5 a gallon, the Government is more intrusive than a Communist's or Monarchist's dream, etc.

After all, you still get to have Pat Robertson pick your kid’s prayers in school.
