Cheney Is Trying to Silence The Star Witness to His Felony

Today both CNN and MSNBC said that Cheney and Bush weren’t speaking about a pardon at this time soon after Judge Walton ruled Libby has to serve his time in jail during the appeal process. However, FOX News said that sources told them Cheney was working like crazy to get Bush to pardon good old Scooter.

Cheney is trying to get a pardon for Scooter - are you kidding???????

Scooter committed perjury and obstruction of justice to prevent Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald from completing his investigation and indicting Dick Cheney for outing Valerie Plame.

There's only one thing that should get Scooter out of jail - telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about Dick Cheney's role in Plame's outing.

Of course that's the very last thing Dick Cheney wants, because he'd rot in jail after Fitzgerald got through prosecuting him.

So Cheney wants to get Bush to pardon Libby to shut him up.

Can you imagine if Al Gore had tried to use Bill Clinton's pardon power to silence the star witness against him in a major national security investigation? Rightwingers would have screamed about it until the end of time.

I can't imagine a greater abuse of Presidential power than pardoning a felon to stop him from exposing a criminal Vice President.

The mere fact that Cheney is lobbying Bush to commit such a heinous act is sufficient grounds for Congress to impeach Cheney.
