Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) is the second most powerful Republican in the House. In response to a pro-recovery lobbying campaign by AFSCME, his spokesman Brad Dayspring sent around this disgusting old video as an anti-AFSCME "joke."
When I took my first (and only!) job working for a politician (a Democratic state senator in Connecticut), I was told that everything I did reflected on my boss, so I had to uphold the highest standards at all times. I was also told that I worked for the taxpayers and had to spend my time doing public service, not politics.
It's obvious that Eric Cantor doesn't apply either rule to his staff. After getting caught promoting rightwing profanity on taxpayer time, Dayspring sent a belated apology. But that's not good enough. As John Amato writes, Congress needs to censure Eric Cantor.- Bob Fertik's blog

cantor
If cantor was a Democrat And made this kind of "joke" about Republicans you can bet that Rush all the Rush wanabes would be beating the outrage drum and demanding action be taken. Maybe we as Democrats should take a page from the Republican play book and go for the throat.
Democrats reputation
has not got on board with CHANGE. Until there is a positive attitude by the leadership, or so called leadership, realizes that standing up for our rights and the Democratic Party is "JOB #1", we will continue to buckle and fold as our reputation has indicated past actions, we cannot change the mental thoughts of these spineless leaders.
It's not a negative response when you stand up for yourself, and fight fire with fire when needed. TRUTH is what we need to project for our actions, we will get respect with this simple task. Honesty and respect will follow.
Cantor needs to go already
As a public employee represented by AFSCME and an American citizen, I am deeply offended by the attitude taken by Mr. Cantor and his staff toward hard working civil servants. I an many of my coworkers, have chosen to employ our professional skills (in my case, as a clinical psychologist) in service of some of the most unfortunate members of our society. We do this because we believe in the value of public service. I certainly don't appreciate being ridiculed by the likes of Eric Cantor and his reprehensible spokesperson. No public servant deserves to be so maligned, especially not given the low salaries most of us receive in exchange for our good work.
