How to Email Democrats.com Activists in your CD

• Click "My account" on the upper left
• Click on "Voting" tab on the upper right
• Scroll down to "Look up other users in your Congressional District" and click
• Below your Senators and Representatives, you will see "Users in District"
• Right below that is "Users Registered to Receive Alerts," which you can click to review
• You can unclick anyone you do not want to receive your email
• For "Subject" use "A Message from [your name]"
• For "Message" write a friendly note to explain who you are and why you're writing. See examples below.
• Click "Preview" to make sure it looks ok, then click "Test Mail" to send one copy to yourself, and make sure it gets delivered to you and looks good
• Then click "Send Mail" to send a copy to everyone who is checked above.
• If you get a good response, you should propose a convenient time and place to meet, such as a convenient coffee shop.
• We have specific instructions on collecting petitions.
• In some cases we can help you email petition signers.

Example #1: Impeachment Committees

My name is ? and I am a fellow member of Democrats.com.

I am organizing an Impeachment Committee to persuade Representative ? to support impeachment.

We will collect impeachment petitions in a busy location, write letters to the editor, and meet with Representative ? to persuade him/her to support impeachment.

Example #2: Iraq Town Hall
