Buzz Patterson's Idiotic Attack Backfires

Rightwing retired Air Force Lt. Col. Robert "Buzz" Patterson was on Hardball today attacking reservists like Capt. Jon Soltz of VoteVets.org for criticizing the occupation of Iraq, claiming it was against military rules.

Soltz explained that reservists are only prohibited from engaging in politics when they are on active duty - either stationed overseas or during their monthly weekend drills. Otherwise they are "Citizen Soldiers," exercising their full rights as Citizens. But Patterson wouldn't stop attacking him.

Apparently Col. Patterson is utterly ignorant of the political activities of one Texas Air National Guard Lt. George W. Bush, who spent the summer and fall of 1972 working full time on the losing gubernatorial campaign of rightwing Republican Winston "Red" Blount.

Of course it was perfectly legal because Bush wasn't politicking while drilling. But Bush had a slightly different problem, which was far more serious - he never showed up for his mandatory Alabama drills that year, making him a deserter.

Care to explain that, Col. Patterson? If not, just STFU about Capt. Soltz and the outstanding members of VoteVets.org.

There is no doubt that George W. Bush was AWOL during his time in the guard. I believe that the story that Dan Rather ran on Bush's service was true. As I have always said, Bush needs to do a "fly by" in the jet he had his photo op taken......flying a jet is like riding a bike, you never forget. Bush is still AWOL from his military service today and is certainly AWOL from the Iraqi war. We support VoteVets.org and it so offensive to see a soldier lie to the people....especially a man who is lying to protect a president who started a war based on lies... that is killing his brothers and sisters who are in combat.

I believe is the reward to prove that bu$h didn't desert the ANG. NO ONE HAS EVER COME FOWARD TO CLAIM THE PRIZE. Not even the idiot bu$h himself. That's hard to imagine a greedy bastard would probably want that money.

SO, IT IS TRUE. No one has ever provide proof he was on duty. NEVER.

A simple point. If I were president of the US, I'd bet there would be hundreds of soldiers I served come forward to say things about me. Not bu$h, though.
