Bush with Lipstick
Sarah Palin has been compared to a lot of politicians, both real (Dan Quayle) and fictional (Tracy Flick). But the best comparison is America's most hated President himself, George W. Bush.
Like Bush, Palin is a folksy-acting Governor with few accomplishments and plenty of scandals.
Like Bush, Palin took a budget that was running a surplus and left behind a huge debt.
Like Bush, Palin destroys the careers of any underlings who dare to disagree with her.
Like Bush, Palin is happy to lie about her non-accomplishments and stonewall her scandals.
Like Bush, Palin illegally claims "executive privilege" to block the release of emails that contain evidence of her scandals.
Like Bush, Palin can't answer questions from reporters with "handlers." (Is she in seclusion learning how to use an earpiece?)
Like Bush, Palin's primary "expertise" is oil. And like Bush, Palin doesn't believe in global warming, because it's bad for rich oil companies.
Like Bush, Palin is a puppet of Religious Right leaders like James Dobson who want to outlaw all abortions and turn America into a Theocracy where self-appointed spokesmen for God rule, not We The People.
In her prime-time acceptance speech, Palin called herself a Pit bull with Lipstick. But that's an insult to pit bulls. When you look carefully, she's really Bush with Lipstick.
Update 1: Original photo replaced with better version from The Huffington Post. HuffPo's Nico Pitney quotes conservative David Frum:
"George W. Bush had very slight executive experience before becoming president. His views were not well known. He won the nomination exactly in the same way that Palin has won the hearts of so many conservatives: by sending cultural cues to convince them that he was one of them, understood them, sympathized with them. So that made everything else irrelevant in 2000 - as it seems again to be doing in 2008."
Update 2: John Cole nails it:
And Sarah Palin is the distilled essence of wingnut. She has it all. She is dishonest. She is a religious nut. She is incurious. She is anti-science. She is inexperienced. She abuses her authority. She hides behind executive privilege. She is a big spender. She works from the gut and places a greater value on instinct than knowledge.
And most dangerous of all, she is supremely self-confident to the point of not recognizing how ill-equipped she is to lead the country. [...]
George Bush in a dress.
Update 3: Here's Bob Ceska:
Like President Bush, she's a far-right fundamentalist with out-of-touch social views, and the statements from both her and the McCain campaign prove that she's not afraid to flaunt the contradictions and hypocrisies evident in her public remarks. She's anti-choice and anti-privacy as it pertains to the Fourth Amendment and would work to deny our daughters of their right to choose and to keep private their medical decisions, and yet all week we've been hearing about her choices and her right to privacy.
Ties to Big Oil interests? Check.
Ties to corruption? Check.
Denies that global warming is man-made? Check. [...]
Drop the plainspoken Texas drawl and "armadilla'" pronunciations and replace them with an Edie McClurg-meets-Fargo accent and phrases like "first dude."

Palin will do what Bush asks
Palin is also a stubborn again extremist who wants to replace democracy with theocracy, to blur the line between politics and religion. She is also an advocate of Intelligent Design.
Once more : McCain sold his soul to theocons and Palin is their guarantee. If Mac decides to claim his independence back, Palin will get a promotion and make sure the Supreme Court turns the country into an Iranianlike theocracy.
