On some screens, the words are typed on top of each other. The middle box, where the texts is written runs into the right side; "recent posts", etc. words are cut off. I have Windows 98 PC and my internet, at the time, is PeoplePC
I cannot access democrats.com community
I get a window now from my browser, Safari,
asking for my username and password.
They do not work.
I use to log in on the community homepage
with no problem.Same browser, no problem.
Now, with the new window, the name
and password don't work.
Later;
I tried it with MSI Explorer- same problem.
There is now a pop up window that will
not take the name and password.
Mac OS 10.3.9

Text disappears as I move my
cursor.This started yesterday.
Also, I am getting a prompt that states
my computers can't connect to the
server "local host". Both computers
are affected , makes it damn near impossible
to sign in.
This is the only site where this occurs.

some buggies:
First thing I noticed is search is not working. I can't get it to give me results for inaugural inaug* protest or protests.
Also, how do I know which forums/blogs I wrote comments to? Other sites do this gracefully with a personal page which lists recent comments made. In this way, if I come back to this site two days later, I can readily go to a place I commented on without having to remember the exact name of the blog/forum.

Hanging?
PC, IE6, WinXP Pro, DSL: It may just my puter, but every so often this site seems to hang, and I can't click anything. The cursor turns to the international "do not" symbol (zero with a line trough it) until I click again. Sometimes I have to go through this routine a few times before it will accept a valid "click."
Could this just be caused by high traffic, and if so do you need to throw another log on the server memory?

into a post. I have not found the code, either.

It was taken Sat. morning near Laguna Beach where five sea lions were released back into the ocean
after rehab at the Marine Mammal Center in LB. Not detox- rehab! ;-)
One of my friends inviting me down to see it- on Earth Day- as her son's third grade class helped
to raise money for the sea lions' rehab.
It was fun, exciting, great coffee and people, emotional,
spiritual and I can't wait to do it, again.
Jim, you have to let me in on the secret code-
especially when you can morph sea lions into squirrels!!!

Would it be possible for members to be able to choose text size? Some of this type is small and is harder to see for some.
(edit) Ah! If members who are having trouble with the size of the text and are using IE, there is a setting in Tools; Internet options; Accessibility...that gives the option of ignoring font sizes specified on web pages.

Use Firefox!
Firefox allows you to adjust a web page's text size to your heart's content. Go for it!

Contact Us Form
I attempted to use the "Contact Us" form located under the FAQ page, and after filling it out (to report a troll) received an error message (at the top of the page) which said, "you are not authorized to use this form."
Would it be possible to put a link on the forum page, to a form or an e-mail address for reporting abusers, trolls, etc.?

Altought I don't agree with the Freepers on this site. I do think that having someone on this board with a different point of view actually adds to the dialogue and interest.

I checked the source, don't see the tags needed to make links open in new windows... I'm refering to links that users post in posts... i know that boards that use bbcode can make all the links in posts open in new pages...
and, I've not engaged in any of those things, yet this is my 4th account... please don't delete me now, cause I don't want to register another hotmail account....

So far as I know...
If users use the editing program correctly when they start threads, the link will be set up to open in a new window. Some people, like myself at times, don't bother to use the little link icon at the top to make it open in a new window. It's just easier to cut/paste and hit return.
The editing program doesn't show up when I'm replying. Maybe it's my preference settings, I dunno. When I edit replies it shows up.
I've made it a habit to just look at the top of the browser and if the 'back' arrow is there, I know to hit 'back' to get to the forum. The old site didn't make links hot at all, so this setup is much better, either way.

A couple of issues users should be aware of
1) If you offer copyrighted material, you must supply a link.
2) Very long thread/reply titles that have no breaks mess up the board formatting for IE users. Titles that mess up formatting because of the use of symbols (no space breaks) will be edited.
