Breaking: Sarah Palin Loves Earmarks!

This week, the centerpiece of John McCain's new partnership with Sarah Palin was her alleged crusading opposition to earmarks. The "Bridge to Nowhere" was Exhibit A, but their claim of crusading opposition was far more sweeping. And Palin tried to make that argument to Charlie Gibson:

But Gibson kept reminding her that she for for the Bridge to Nowhere until Congress killed it. So how did Palin defend herself?

PALIN: I was for infrastructure being built in the state. And it’s not inappropriate for a mayor or for a governor to request and to work with their Congress — their congressmen, their congresswomen, to plug into the federal budget along with every other state a share of the federal budget for infrastructure.

Hello? Palin just used a whole lot of words to praise ... earmarks!
