Progressive Blogosphere is the Cream of the Crop
Bloggers like Chris Bowers are having fun analyzing the results of the latest Blogads Reader Survey. Let me add some fun comparisons with the Web audiences of NYTimes.com and WashingtonPost.com:
| College Grads |
Income | Age | Wrote Politician |
|
| DemBlogs | 80% | $80K Median | 46 Median | 80% |
| RepBlogs | 76% | $90-100 Med | 41-50 Med | 68% |
| NYTimes.com | 75% | $84K Mean | 46.5 Mean | 45% |
| WaPo.com | 72% | $70K Median |
So what can we say about this data?
- Democratic blog readers are the best-educated group of all
- Republican blog readers are the richest group, with Democratic blog readers second (the NY Times mean total is skewed by millionaires, and the Washington Post is read largely by middle-income bureaucrats)
- The audiences are around the same ages
- Democratic blog readers are the most active group of all
You, dear reader of progressive blogs, are the cream of the crop - the kind of reader that advertisers covet most.
Bill Keller and Leonard Downie, you are suicidal morons for treating us with contempt - rather than the respect we deserve!
Update 1: Via Matt Stoller, Kevin Drum says 10 million Democrats read blogs every day or a few times a week. That means we get as many readers as the New York Times web site (73% readers 10 or more days per month * 12.96 million U.S. readers.)
