News:
Eight long years ago, U.S. troops invaded Afghanistan to capture Osama bin Laden.
After eight long years, what progress has been made? The country remains in chaos under corrupt leaders, civilian deaths have risen along with troop levels, the financial cost is skyrocketing, and Osama bin Laden remains free.
After eight long years, our military leaders can neither define "victory" nor offer a plan to achieve it. We have already sacrificed nearly 1,000 U.S. soldiers and wasted $228 billion of our tax dollars. Now the Pentagon demands 40,000 more soldiers and $5 billion each month.
It's time to bring our brave troops home from Afghanistan. Eight years is enough.
We adamantly oppose any increase in troop levels and urge you to co-sponsor Rep. Barbara Lee's H.R. 3699 to block any increase.
We also demand an exit strategy for Afghanistan, and urge you to co-sponsor Rep. Jim McGovern's H.R. 2404.
The question is: "Afghanistan Exit Strategy".
