Chris 'Screamer' Matthews Pimps For Rudy the Nazi, Drops An F-Bomb On Imus

Chris "Screamer" Matthews was on a tear this past week, pimping support for "America's mayor", Rudy the Nazi. Saying on Imus' radio show, Rudy "...made you feel like you had a right to walk the street safely" and added, "I think the country wants a boss like that, you know? A little bit of fascism there. Just a little bit. Just a pinch of it." As if we haven't already had six years of out-right fascism under the illegitimate Bush Occupation. I don't no 'bout anyone else, but NO MORE FASCISTS! Get a life Screamer, any cred you had left is now extinct... anyway, the "buzz" on the internets has been more about the F-bomb Mathews dropped on the same Imus radio show a minute or two later...

The MediaMatters news gruel up next...

Saying "the country wants ... a little bit of fascism," on Imus Matthews further saluted Giuliani - On the February 7 edition of MSNBC's Imus in the Morning, MSNBC Hardball host Chris Matthews heaped praise on GOP presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, calling the former New York mayor "the kind of gutsy, street-corner politician we all grew up with" who "stood on the corner during the fire and told us what was going on." Matthews said that he would like "[a] guy who wasn't on the ranch during Katrina -- who was out on the street corner answering questions," adding: "I'm so sick of southern guys with ranches running this country. I want a guy to run for president who doesn't have a fucking -- I'm sorry -- a ranch. Wouldn't that be good?"

Matthews again touted the progress Giuliani made in improving olfactory conditions in New York City, asserting that "subways didn't smell like pee anymore" and that "[e]ven the phone booths in New York have always smelled like pee." Matthews made similar claims on the February 5 editions of MSNBC Live and Hardball, both noted by Media Matters for America. Matthews also claimed that Giuliani "made you feel like you had a right to walk the street safely" and added, "I think the country wants a boss like that, you know? A little bit of fascism there. Just a little bit. Just a pinch of it."

As Media Matters has noted, Matthews has previously made the similar claim that Giuliani "is a front-runner because the voters like this guy because during 9-11 he was the one guy there on the street corner, not hiding like all the other pols did."

From the February 7 edition of MSNBC's Imus in the Morning:

MATTHEWS: The subways didn't smell like pee anymore. Even the phone booths in New York have always smelled like pee -- when there's not even a booth, it's just a phone and it smells like pee. And this guy cleaned it up, and he made you feel like you had a right to walk the street safely. I think he did a great job. I'm sorry. And I think the country wants a boss like that. You know, a little bit of fascism there. Just a little bit. Just a pinch of it.

IMUS: Well, the lame observation being made by a lot of folks, maybe it's not lame, but -- that he can't get the nomination because, you know the right-wing nuts, you know --

MATTHEWS: Well, you know what -- that is such conventional wisdom, it is the kinda crap people should -- there should be a buzzer that goes off when people say that kind of crap. Look, if you go down to Jackson, Mississippi, you go to Atlanta, Florida, you go anywhere in the South to men's clubs for lunch, who is the number one speaker they want? Giuliani.

You go around the suburbs of New York, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, everywhere -- all those suburban areas where people used to live in cities and loved their cities and had to leave them. And they say, "I still love my city I want to go back. This guy Giuliani's saving my city for me." I mean, I felt that way about Eddie Rendell in Philadelphia. We love good mayors 'cause we love our cities, and Giuliani's the city guy.

And I'm so sick of Southern guys with ranches running this country. I want a guy to run for president who doesn't have a fucking -- I'm sorry -- a ranch. Wouldn't that be good? A guy who wasn't on the ranch during Katrina -- he was out on the street corner answering questions. Giuliani was answering questions.

IMUS: Did you beep that? Hang on a minute. Did you get that, Lou?

LOU RUFINO (engineer): Yes, Bernard [McGuirk, executive producer] got it.

IMUS: Did you get it on MSNBC?

RUFINO: We'll have to ask them.

MATTHEWS: Hah!

RUFINO: See if they effed up.

IMUS: Did you, Tom? Well, we're not -- weren't we on delay when we had Sid [Rosenberg, sports commentator]?

MATTHEWS: I think I got about half the syllable in there. I think.

IMUS: What were you swearing for?

MATTHEWS: I don't know. I get excited.

IMUS: I already told you that it was a lame observation people were making. I hope you weren't barking at me about that, I said --

MATTHEWS: No, I was joining you as a Greek chorus.

IMUS: No, but I mean, if you were on Meet the Press or the Today show, would you do that? No, of course not.

MATTHEWS: I think I said something the other night on my show like that.

IMUS: Well, no. Your show -- nobody watches your show.

[...]

MATTHEWS: Well here's my thought between all that, is that I think Giuliani's the kind of gutsy, street-corner politician we all grew up with. When there was a fire, the police commissioner showed up with the fire commissioner and stood on the corner during the fire and told us what was going on. We miss that.

IMUS: Oh, I love the guy -- no, you're not -- you're preaching to the choir here.

MATTHEWS: I mean, even [Sen.] Hillary [Rodham Clinton (D-NY)], you know, every time she says something you figure, well, two days later she'll come out and explain it after she's talked to her staff. And the president's on his ranch somewhere getting DVDs of what's happening. I want a guy or a woman as president who is actually there.

Democrates

The democratic party from my personal perspective are traitors to their own philosophy and ideas, in order to empower themselves, so as to continue using American political offies to further their own personal intrest which corrupt and weaken the foundation of America, so as to profit personaly from it. The party has stooped so low as to even to disgrace itself in it's effort to take over American opnion, which they failed at miserably. In fact they've only succedded in creating more intrest in stopping this tide of sewage, coming from its viscious self serving leftist position looking to make American values that of gambling, prostitution, perversion, and drugs, with any responsibility for the damage to America. This America will not forget, this Attack on it's self by corrupted self serving indifferent clicks of a depraved media society, which appears to be nothing more than paid actors.

Well, roody poo

Welcome to the site.

First, I'd like to point out that it's 'democrats.'  I know that there are certain internet circles inhabited by warted trolls living under bridges that like to refer to democrats as 'democrates.'  I also am reminded that they prefer to call it the 'democrat' party, instead of the democratic party.  But if you're going to post here as an Independent, I thought I'd give you some pointers that might help with your longevity here.  Point being, if you sound like a troll, you're going to get booted.  So if you want to stay and you think you have some points to make, I would suggest to you that you cut back on the troll language - otherwise, it's going to be your own fault if you get booted.

Next, I'd like to address perhaps the only part of your post that stuck out for me:

In fact they've only succedded in creating more intrest in stopping this tide of sewage, coming from its viscious self serving leftist position looking to make American values that of gambling, prostitution, perversion, and drugs, with any responsibility for the damage to America.

I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to, but I can tell you this - after what the Bush administration has put America through, it would be very hard indeed, to come up with behavior more corrupt or depraved.  Before you come on a democratic site talking about gambling, prostitution, perversion or drugs, I would suggest that you google up 'Guckert,' 'Iran/Contra,' and ' 'Franklin Coverup.'

The last point I'd like to make is that 'third party' is not the way.  Third parties are not winners.  They're spoilers.  That's how it is.  All the wishful thinking in the world is not going to change that.  A spoiler gave us four years of George W. Bush, which turned into eight years of hell.

But does he support Rudy the Nazi?

LootieMaye, I'm wonderin' if this clown supports Rudy the Nazi? I'm guessin' that reference is was set him off...

Deantid, why not start by learning how to spell Democrats...

Lessee now, yer an indie from Florida. Nuff said.

Spelling Democrat

grinch don't be so hard on spelling...since it may be a typo. I as well as most other people make them all the time.

"democrate" is a standard

"democrate" is a standard troll spelling, and is usually posted with forethought and purpose. Many "Independents" are in actuality freepers. deantld is obviously one of the neocon cowards who are afraid to advertise their true affiliation...

Dove, read Lootie's comment below on the spelling of Democrats..

You will find it true that right-wing Indies are so accustomed to spelling Democrats as Democrates or Demorats on their own boards(Freeperville comes to mind)that they goof when they visit, even a short visit like this one was.

Spelling is more important than many seem to think.

It does make you wonder

How these people wind up HERE when they're spelling it 'democrate.'  Most suspicious, indeed.  Their spelling problems must certainly be selective.

Firefighters say "Hell No, to Giuliani"

http://www.firefightingnews.com/article-US.cfm?articleID=27125

I found this a tad interesting read.

The compassion of this jerks.

I Will not support rudy aka

I Will not support rudy aka bully guiliani.

No More Facism, time for a real new direction.

Does Matthews think

Does Matthews think that "a little bit of fascism" is like a daddy spanking a naughty child? Maybe 6 yrs of bush has made me hyper-sensitive
but I don't see a "little bit of fascism" to be quite as charming as Chris seems to. Has he forgotten the young black man who was gunned down in his doorway by Giuliani's cops at the beginning of Rudy's regime? Crime not understanding english very well and reaching for his wallet.

I would really like to see these bubble-babies [elites] forced out of their bubbles and into the real world for about a year without their easily recognizable "name" or bank accounts or friends in high places, you know to live life just like the rest of us? What an eye opening experience that would be for them and how would it change the way they think and act and treat the working men and women they hold so little regard for.

Repub Presidental candidates for 2008

http://www.alternet.org/story/38015/

Alternet.com article.

The three top Republican candidates aren't exactly upright husbands with "family values".

The media cleans them up but the story is not as they say.

If we can't defeat them we aren't doing it right.

Rudy Giuliani and John

Rudy Giuliani and John McCain wont be the nominees. The Repuglicans are probably going to put up Mitt Romney in 2008 and he will lose to the next Democratic president, potentially Al Gore if we get him in.

The only thing we have to fear, is George W Bush and Richard B "Dick" Cheney and the RIGHTWING CONSERVATIVE BIASED REPUBLICAN MEDIA

And a little bit of racism too. McCain is not bigotted enough

so he is losing ground to the likes of Rudi, and if the Newt enters the race, he'll be god's gift to the neocon-fascist regime. Pat Buchanan must really wish that he hadn't run before. He would be ripe pickings for the RW-neocon-fascists running the show now. AIPAC wouldn't like Pat, but everyone else on the right would.

McCain might get the Fundie vote...remember that Rudy...

likes to show up frequently wearing expensive gowns and wigs...and plenty of makeup.

I doubt that this will sell outside NYC.
